Sunday School Classes
College Class:
Heather Frazier and Pastor Larry Buckland, teachers - Downstairs Classroom

Young Adults:
Mike & Sarah Hensley, teachers - Upstairs Classroom

Women’s Class:
Doris Robinson, teacher - Downstairs Classroom
Short-term studies are used which focus on topics that are relevant to today’s women. A wide range of ages of women attend, which helps to get a perspective from both ends of the spectrum. They laugh, they cry, they share the joy of knowing Jesus. They would love to have others join them as they seek to grow closer to God and to one another.

Men’s Class:
Jeff Facemire, teacher - Library – Upstairs
Men of all ages are welcomed to join as they strive to become Godly men through study and fellowship.  The atmosphere is relaxed and low key.  Join them as they encourage one another to live the life that God intended.

Serendipity Class:
Dannette DeVaul and Bill Leeper, teachers - Fellowship Hall
Studies are chosen that draw them closer to the will of God. They have done short-term studies, DVD lessons, and have studied books of the Bible. All adults are welcome to join them!

JOY Group:
Judy Hamilton, teacher - Music Room - Upstairs
Books of the Bible are studied. They are middle and older adults who love laughter and celebration.


Women
Girlfriends Unlimited Groups:
These are groups of women with similar interests that get together on a regular basis.
  • Lit ‘n’ Lattes:
    This is Book Club that meets each month to discuss a book that is chosen by the group to read. Group Leader is Lisa Leeper.

  • Dancin’ Divas:
    Dancin' Divas meet each Wednesday evening in the Fellowship Hall to do zumba-type exercise. Group Leader is Gina Cole.

  • Sassy Scrappers:
    Sassy Scrappers meet at the church twice a month for dinner and scrapbooking. Group Leader is Abby Chapman.

  • Stitchers Unlimited:
    Stitchers Unlimited meets twice a month to knit and crochet together. Group Leader is Melissa Irons.

  • Flicker Chicks:
    Flicker Chicks meet to see movies together. Group Leader is Doris Robinson.

Lydia Circle:
Lydia Circle is a group of women who get together on the third Monday of each month. They may meet in their homes, at the church, or in restaurants to include a fun program, food, fellowship, devotions, and service projects. They like working to make lives a little better by helping out with needs we see in the church and community. They also have a good time as they support one another with love and concern. A standing invitation for any woman of the church or community to join them is always open. They would love to have you! Rita Veasey, chairperson.

United Methodist Women:
United Methodist Women meet quarterly. They sell Rada Knives and Southern Flavorings & Extracts. They also have a bake sale with the UM Men’s yard sale. They feed the students at the Wesley House at FSU. Dolly Helmick is the secretary/treasurer.

Women’s Home Bible Study:
Sharon McCutcheon, facilitator – Scriptural based studies to help women of all ages grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord. Their desire, as they study God’s Word, is to grow to the place where the most important thing in their lives, by far, is their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They would love to have others come and grow there with them. They meet weekly on Tuesday mornings at Sharon’s home. The atmosphere fun, relaxed and informal. Coffee and light refreshments are served.


Men
United Methodist Men:
United Methodist Men are a group of men dedicated to the church, to the community, and to God, who gather on the third Saturday of every month for a breakfast meeting. Each spring they sponsor a Yard Sale. The money raised is used to support ministries throughout the year including Habitat for Humanity, Union Mission, Cub/Boy Scouts, Project Graduation, Dress an Angel, feeding students at the Wesley House at FSU, and ringing bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas. All men are welcome to join the breakfast meetings!


Everyone
JOY (Just Older Youth):
JOY (Just Older Youth) meets weekly at noon on Wednesdays for Bible Study and fellowship. They share a meal the first Wednesday of each month. Lenna Brady is the leader of this group.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES including Birthday Luncheon, Ice Cream Social, Family Game Night, and a Church Picnic are held throughout the year.

OTHER ACTIVITIES that may interest you include being a part of worship as a liturgist, greeter, usher, acolyte or a member of the tech crew, praise team, or choir.
